Battle Classes
The battle classes are displayed by an icon in the top right corner of the cards. They determine how the cards fight.

The class affects the range value.
There are:
Melee : marked by a sword icon
Marksmen: marked by a crossbow icon
Hermeticist: marked by hand icon
The actions explain in more detail how the battle classes differ from one another. Actions
What are actions?
Actions are certain acts of character cards that are carried out by the player. There is one action per card per turn.
When can actions be taken?
Actions can only be taken during the action phase of your own turn. An action can be taken with any character card that was on the field before the start of the turn. With cards that were placed during the placement phase, no more actions can be taken in the same turn.
What types of actions are there?
There are basically two types of action that can be done with character cards.. Attacking and moving. Depending on the battle class, the attacking behaves a little differently. For troops there are special actions which will be explained later in the video.
The use of effects is not considered an action and can therefore be used in addition to the actions. The applicability depends on the respective effect type and the effect behaviour.
Attack
If not protected by special circumstances (guardians or effects), ANY card can be attacked by ANY card.
In the event of an attack, the attack value of the attacking unit is deducted from the defense value of the defending unit.
If the defense value of a card falls below zero, the card has been defeated and is removed from the battlefield. However, a card must be defeated within one turn, because the defense values of all cards are restored at the end of each turn.
There are 2 types of battle that determine the attack from the different Battle Classes.
Fighting takes place either in close combat or in ranged combat.
Close combat - Battle within the radius of one hexagon. All three battle types (melee, marksmen and hermeticists) can fight in close combat, whereby marksmen suffer a loss of 50% of the attack (the value will be rounded up). In contrast to ranged combat, close combat can be used together with the movement action. If a unit has the corresponding movement value to reach an adjacent field of an opposing unit, a melee attack can also be carried out.
Ranged combat– Battle within the radius of 2-3 hexagons. Only applies to marksmen and hermeticists. Can only be performed if there is no opposing unit adjacent. If an opposing unit is adjacent, it must first be attacked with a melee attack. Ranged combat is considered a complete action and cannot be used together with the movement action.
Movement
A character card moves from one hexagon to another. Depending on the movement value, you can move between 1-3 hexagons. You can only move in fields that are free. Moving over occupied fields only allowed for fields occupied by allied units. Fields occupied by the opponent must be bypassed.
Special actions
troop movements - When moving troops, a distinction is made between moving as a troop, joining the troops and disbanding a troop.
Moving a troop works just like any other unit.
Joining the troop - a single unit or troop can join an existing troop at any time. This is done by moving the unit onto the field of the existing troops. However, you have to be aware that with this action the whole troop will be incapable of action for the rest of the turn.
Disbanding troops - an existing troop can be disbanded at any time. Depending on the number of cards stacked, you can split them up as you like - Either again in single cards or in smaller troops. This is done by moving the units (depending on the split) away from the field and thus from the troop. When troops are disbanded, individual units can either move or even attack.
Reactions
In contrast to action, there are also reactions. However, this happens automatically without the player being able to actively influence it. Reactions are the result of effects. For example, counter-attacking of cards when they are attacked. You can find out more in the video about effects. What do you guys think about the battle classes and the actions?
