Hello
Welcome to the GoLCCCC!
To introduce everybody i start with a little FAQ. further questions can be asked obviously and will be added here.
What is the GoLCCCC? It is a contest to create custom cards and stands for Glimpse of Luna Custom Card Creation Contest. Long name i know, but i just could not make it shorter, and we still end up with the handy short version. It focuses on the creativity and not on talent for art. Coming up with cool new abilities and creatures that bend the rules of GoL as far as we can without creating OP cards.
What is required for the custom card?
The card need to look good and therefore artwork is required for sure. Making your own artwork would be way to much work and would additionally require alot of talent. Alot of good art can be found on the internet. (Tips on how to find art later)
To sum it up you need: Artwork, Stats, Card level, battleclass, gender, name, Ability/Ability Type and potentially an ability icon, extra work would include possible fellowships with fellows, fellowship name and fellowship bonus. Cherry on top is a Card's Lore but that is not required at all.
How to create a custom card?
In order to make it as accessible as possible for everybody i've created a tutorial and templates for the creation of custom cards.

Will there be a prizepool? Yes. The best two entries are going to win 500LS each provided by the developers.
How much time do we have?
The contest is planned over a span of 2 weeks, it starts on Sunday June 19th. and will end on Sunday July 3rd.
Entries will be sent in the discord server in the channel for the event. Cards are allowed to be publicly discussed and reposted. After the deadline i will collect the latest entry from everybody and repost them bundled together, open for voting. Voting will be closed on Thursday July 7th. How do we know who wins?
Voting will be done in the public on the discord server. Once the deadline is over, all entries will be posted and everybody can vote on the cards they like.
Multiple votes are allowed, and also voting for your own card is allowed. Remember, voting for everybody is voting for nobody as only the thumbs up count. Don't be too generous with your thumbs :D
Further rules for the GoLCCCC:
1 entry per person that can include a maximum of 2 cards. If multiple cards are submitted a fellowship between those cards is required.
Fellowships can also be created with already existing cards ( you are allowed to creat a card that gives a fellwowship to Drakan the Scorched)
Basic manners. No offensive, forbidden or too graphic material can be used
Card requirements:
Cards have to be made for one of the 4 existing races (this can be changed for future events, but the first one should be "vanilla")
Reasonable aesthetics. As stated above, the cards should have decent artwork that fits within the GoL world. (this can also change in the future, maybe we do some kind of contest for Star Wars or Meme GoL cards. endless possibilities.)
Reasonable balance. It can be very difficult to judge if a card is balanced and will not be ruled super harsh, but keep it in range and don't just create something with 99/99/99/99 stats. In order to create cards with somewhat balanced stats you can take a look at the guide. Stats for different card levels can be found there. Not the most powerful, but the most creative card should win!
Cards are allowed to have existing, new or no abilities at all. If you want to create new abilities this website has them all: https://game-icons.net/
Cards should fit into the GoL universe, this is more a guideline and not a rule. You do not have to be familiar with the lore of GoL in order to create cards and it does not have to be accurate, just try to make it believable that this character you created could be seen there. This is just to avoid entries that say " haha, here is my Darth Vader" , thanks.
Tips for finding artwork: there are 2 ways of creating cards i found so far. You either come up with an idea first you want to realise( for example a 3 range pioneer for the nordur that is fast but very squishy) you now can go to pinterest and can try to find artwork based on your idea i would start to search by using something like "human archer fantasy art" in the searchbar and look at the results and scroll a bit. if you cannot find what you want try to get more precise with your searching by adding gender, or some location like forest to your search.
other websites you can use is very simple just google search and click on pictures, and other websites like artstation.
The second way is to find the cardart first. having a very rough idea for a card like basically only the race or sometimes not even that and just scrolling through the internet with words like "fantasy art" or "lizard fantasy art" if you are looking for some kind of naphas card.
On top of that. you can also look for artists that already work on the game. https://www.artstation.com/themefinland themefinland for example uploaded alot of alwesome art that can be used for cool customs.
Thats it for now. Any questions and suggestions are welcome!
