The age known as ‘Human Age’ was next. It coincided with the arrival of humans in Lyboria and their subsequent settlement. Many also refer to this age as the age of wars. Owing to the arrival of humans and the simultaneous expansion of races, conflict was preordained. The races were also forced to develop more quickly as a result. They were constantly trying to remain one step ahead of the other. Lyboria’s economy flourished as never before despite the various enmities. Wars brought work, and work meant profit. Trading partners were a resource to be exploited and seen as a means to an end. By now, wars took place not only on the battlefield. Some mavericks recognised the potential for hitting the pockets of their enemies using a host of different strategies. Races that were stricken by the war, for example, were often denied access to goods, or prices of essential goods were increased. A diverse range of tactics marked this eventful age. When a state of war has reached its peak, the opposite often follows. Despite the many battles, the end of this age saw reconciliation. Old rivalries were put aside, and ongoing feuds were put to rest. Yet if there was one thing for us to learn from this age, it is the knowledge that old wounds can open again and again. Past actions were forgiven, but present anguish not forgotten.
The arrival of humans
During the time when Cabar ruled over Sizahlas, the humans arrived in Lyboria. They were observed to make their way through the desert in southern Lyboria and inland into the mountains in western Lyboria and even to the cold region in the north of Lyboria. During his reign, Cabar watched the events carefully and drew his conclusions, while his successor Hadron was a Krogar who answered with actions. He founded several groups to serve as a safety precaution against possible dangers. Furthermore, several actions have been taken to keep a close eye on the humans. A seductive drink
For a long time, the Naphas had maintained neutral to good relationships with the arachnids. At a meeting between the two heads, the situation in the kingdom of the Nordur was discussed. One looked skeptically into the common future and wanted to slow down the rapid development of this race. This also offered the opportunity to test the vulnerability of this race to certain toxic substances. A plan was made in which one brought a drink to the people of the Nordur, which was addictive and should make people sick. The leaders weren't aware of the scale of this undertaking... Difficult start in the desert
After several peaceful attempts to contact the human race from the desert, this venture was stopped due to an assault. Barkra, lord of the Naphas at the time, could neither tolerate nor approve of this behavior. In order to show the newcomers Lyborias their place and bring them back to the ground of reality, an attack was started, which was to serve as a warning. Unfortunately, this warning did not have the desired effect and small raids and clashes resulted in a war that was to continue for a long time. The brilliant moves of the Jari
After lord Barkra lost her life in a legendary battle, it was time for the council to choose a new lord. It was agreed on, that Jari the representative of the Jazi became the new lord of the empire. A brilliant strategist who literally shaped this war with his decisions. His term was short, compared to other lords, but he made full use of it, which gave the Naphas a clear advantage in war.
Young & wild
After the lord Jari also lost his life in the war, the decision was made to choose a young and wild lord who should show all his skills on the battlefield. It was Asarnak, one of the strongest Krogar of that time. He taught many humans the meaning of fear. But he too lost his life in one of the many battles between these two races.
The desert epidemic
When Rehash, the Nish representative, was chosen as the lord, he immediately knew what he had to do to gain an advantage in this cruel and tough war. He was an excellent hermeticist and his knowledge of herbalistics was second to none. He created a pathogen similar to that already used on the Nordur, only this time it was brought into circulation by an animal. The main source of food for this human race was infected with this pathogen. One can imagine the consequences of this.
Jaat the diplomat
When Jaat took office, he devised a plan to calm the waves between the two races and restore peace in southern Lyboria. He was firmly convinced that the conflict would harm both races enormously, since in the meantime other races had developed enormously. With skillful negotiating talent and diplomatic skills, he brought the war to an end.
The sign of the snake
After Jazaro learned from his spies that the Aurors were selling Naphas skin at their market stalls, a message had to be sent. It was sneaked into the realm of the Aurors to assassinate the traders of these market stalls. The sign of the snake was left as a message on their corpses. One should know that it was only a forerunner of what would happen if they didn't stop selling Naphas skin.
The construction of Firnend
In the 477 cycle of the III era, some citizens of the city of Redsnow got together and set off to found their own city. Word got around quickly and caused a lot of criticism. Renegades, traitors and unbelievers were just a few of the names that were given to this Nordur. Why the citizens left the city of Redsnow remains controversial. At that time, unrest prevailed in many cities Lifarslands. Their undertaking must have been well planned because they had a good idea of where and how they wanted to found the new city. The place was about the same south as Redsnow only several hundred kilometers west of it. Like Redsnow, the area was surrounded by many forests. It took 7 cycles until Firnend, as they called the city, became a respectable place. With each new day that the many workers worked tirelessly to build this city, new Nordur came from all over Lifarsland to be part of this new city. Back then frowned upon and not accepted, Firnend now stands for community and solidarity, as citizens from all the founding cities were part of this growth. The plague
It was during this time when the largest plague in the history of Lifarsland began to spread. Starting harmlessly with single cases, this epidemic spread faster than rabbits can breed. The plague lasted over 120 cycles and cost thousands of lives. A terrible time that you don't like to look back on. How it all started and where this disease came from is only partially clarified. After a few individual cases quickly turned into numerous victims, they started to get to the bottom of the matter. The trail led from various taverns to traders and finally to the Naphas empire. The whole thing is said to have started with a simple alcoholic drink, which had its origin in a place called "the Rift". Many believe that this plague was an assassination attempt on the people and that the mastermind behind it were government members of the Naphas. Wars among brothers and sisters
It was the time when the wars of the individual tribes and cities took on evil proportions. Reasons were literally sought to fight each other. These cycles were characterized by envy, resentment and hatred. It took several hundred cycles for the differences to be put aside. A common enemy was the reason for early reconciliation. The first minor conflicts with the Tagari began at the end of this chronicle. It wasn't until several 1000 cycles later that people started living together and helping each other. Many of the prejudices that still exist between the founding cities date from this terrible time. A gloomy time in Lifarsland that always finds a place in the collective consciousness. Hrulfs response
The worst and hardest cold spell as long as anyone can remember. Many of the Nordur lost their lives during this period, as it took 22 cycles before a reasonably rich harvest took place again. The result was starvation. It took another 13 cycles for the climate to return to the normal and familiar level. Many saw this as the response from Hrulf, who disapproved of wars and struggles among themselves and wanted to bring them to their senses with this natural disaster. This reflection did not last long, because as everyone knows, people forget very quickly. The discovery of Blue Gold
The discovery of the Blue Gold was one of the most important discoveries in Lifarsland's entire history. It was discovered by Raban the explorer who is said to have been an ancestor of the Tormetz family. The Blue Gold is a metal that has a special accumulation of hermetic energy. Not only is it so valuable because of its hermetic function, the remaining properties of this metal are also ideal for use in various industries. It has become an essential raw material for the domestic economy. The metal is most commonly found in armor. Blue Gold is a heavy metal which to date has the greatest known density. It is often used in alloys along with other metals. The dishonoring of the Elgur - a rivalry for eternity
At that time, the clashes between the Tagari and the Nordur began to grow. What used to be small clashes turned into big battles and an seemingly never-ending war. This war, this rivalry, lasted almost until the end of the Humanera and always had events that sparked the fire of rivalry again and again.
The war was characterized by the following major events:
- Wearing the fur
- The dishonoring of the Etoh (Elgur)
- The battle of Firnend
- The war in the Ice Mountains
The witch spider era
As you sow, so you shall reap. This wise proverb experienced the Nordur firsthand. This time not related to the harvest and not in a positive way. The arrogance with which those responsible for the city of Red Snow faced the arachnids was astonishing. They seriously wanted to start cutting down the dark woods in order to use the wood for their own purposes. Who would have thought that the arachnids would not put up with it? It got worse, a plan was made in which the Nordur would pay dearly for it. That's how it happened - in the form of the witch spider. Like a parasite that eats the body from the inside, the witch spider has attacked Red Snow where it hurts the most - in the heart. The gathering of the Jarls
In the 6200th cycle, the III era, the first Jarl gathering in Lifarsland took place. That day Lifarsland became a kingdom. Important issues were discussed and laws for the future were established. One of the issues was the recognition of the city of Firnend as part of the Kingdom of Lifarsland. With this recognition Firnend was officially allowed to have his own Jarl as head. Firnend was now one of the cities in Lifarsland, but none of the six founding cities. This was accepted without any objection by the residents of Firnend, as the historical background confirms this fact. Thus, there have been seven cities in Lifarsland for a little more than 800 cycles. The seven cities are:
Firnend, Redsnow, Shieldtree, Coldguard, Portheim, Stormpit and Wintersleep.
The leader of the Usmog
The usmogs have long been considered a myth. Eyewitnesses were always smiled at and accused of once again smoking too much or eating too much of the special mushrooms. However, when the incidents of missing and slaughtered izusas (mountain goat) and mamos (mammoth) piled up, the matter was investigated. One went in search of the myth in the unexplored mountains. It wasn't long before the myth came true and the three-eyed giants were met. The powerful and nearly three times as large creatures became a serious danger for the Tagari. The usmogs are driven out of their ice caves during hard winters. Then they roam deeper into the valley at about the height of the Igmu Glacier. The Tokala clan approached the Catori clan to commission the Monster Hunters' Guild known as The Claws. The Claws finally managed to kill countless usmogs. They followed their trail to the bottom of their caves and killed their leader at the time. There are many interesting stories about this.
The body parts of the usmogs are extremely valuable for shamans due to their immense energy and life essence. The Moki Pact
The Moki are a small tribe that inhabits the southern part of the Land Of The Red Pillars. They have always been mentioned in the Tagari tales. They live in cave systems at the foot of the red pillars.
The Moki communicate in their own language. Their way of life is rather primitive and their appearance appears very cute at first glance. But don't be fooled by that, because the seemingly cute Moki are nimble and cunning creatures. They mainly feed on small rodents, insects, fruits and berries. Quite a while ago, the Moki made a pact with the Tagari. The pact states that the Moki may no longer raid travelers, traders or other groups. Furthermore, they keep the Tagari up to date on all events in the region. In return, the Tagari take care of the vadakas, the Moki's greatest enemies, and supply them with the goods they want. The Moki are particularly into mind-altering substances. Despite the pact, the Moki regularly loot foreign travelers. Most of the time they do not use violence, but they can defend themselves very well when it matters. When raiding, they always have the same two procedures. They either block the narrow paths with stones and rubble, or dig holes in which the carriages get stuck. In the meantime, some abseil down from the pillars and others sneak up on the ground and then quickly disappear into their small caves. If the Moki violate the pact once again, the Tagari will ask them to return the stolen goods. Traders who have been robbed should report to the competent authority either in Wokasa or in Aponivi. In smaller cases, the victims are compensated directly by the Tagari. In general, it is recommended that you hire a local guide to cross this area. This can save you a lot of time and effort. Many Tagari earn their money with these escort quests.
The return of the Usmog
After thousands of cycles of Usmog's absence, they returned in an aggressive manner. Both Nordur and Tagari were affected and had to solve this problem before they spread again in the mountains. What do you think about the III era of Lyboria? Which chronicle do you like the most?
